2023 Battle of the Bands

Join Team Luke Hope for Minds for the 2023 Battle of the Bands. Bands will be selected to fundraise, with the winning act getting an invite to play at Blue Light in Lubbock May 2 opening for Lubbock Native Texas Country artist. See additional prizes below.

The rules: Bands will be selected to take part based on their application and fundraising goals. Each band will be assigned fundraising pages to help fundraise for Team Luke Hope for Minds – whoever raises the most money through donations wins.

The timeline: Bands will be selected and begin fundraising on March 20th, and the winner will be decided April 28th.

The important stuff: 1 in 500 school-age children each year receive a head injury severe enough to be hospitalized. Every 21 seconds an infant, child, teenager, or adult in the U.S. sustains a traumatic brain injury. Traumatic brain injury is the leading cause of disability and death in children and adolescents in the U.S. Fewer than 1 in 20 people with a traumatic brain injury will receive the rehabilitation they need. Proceeds will go to helping Team Luke Hope for Minds support kids and their families after brain injury with resources, financial assistance, education, rehab and more.

Other stuff:

- - A “band” can be a solo artist, duo, or full band. Bands do not need to be local and can be any genre.
  - Team Luke Hope for Minds will feature each band on our social media channels to assist with overall fundraising and awareness.
  - Bands must provide band details, graphics and audio to be used on the fundraising page and social media feature.

Prizes:

First Place

Opportunity to open for a Lubbock Native Texas Country Artist at Blue Light in Lubbock on 5/2. Headliner will be announced on 4/17.

3 hours of recording time, as well as Mixing & Mastering packages at MC Audio Studios.

Second Place

2 hours of recording time, as well as Mixing & Mastering packages at MC Audio Studios

Third Place

1 hour of recording time, as well as Mixing & Mastering packages at MC Audio Studios

*If a band doesn’t get 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd place but raises $350 or more, they will receive 1 hour of recording time at MC Audio Studios.
