Transitioning Into Adulthood:

We will discuss transitioning from childhood to adulthood and long-term planning. A variety of Texas resources will be provided and discussed, including input from a vocational specialist.

 

About Lindsay Heath, Ph.D., LSSP, CBIS & Bruce Bloom, M Ed, CRC, CAS, IPEC :

Lindsay Heath, Ph.D., LSSP, CBIS is a neuropsychologist who provides home and community based neurorehabilitation services with Rehab Without Walls. She works with children and adults and supports them as they transition back into community environments. She also provides pediatric and adult neuropsychological assessments at the Neurobehavioral Institute of Austin. She is the President of the Austin Neuropsychological Society and Small Victories Foundation, a nonprofit that provides creative experiences for adult brain injury survivors.

Bruce Bloom, M Ed, CRC, CAS, IPEC is the Founder and CEO of Bloom Consulting, LLC located in Round Rock and Houston, Texas. Bruce earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The State University of New York at Stony Brook. Bruce worked as an HR generalist and an area manager for several fortune 500 companies prior to returning to school to obtain a master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Texas at Austin. After Graduation from The University of Texas, Bruce started his own Vocational Consulting Company in Austin, Texas focusing on job placement services, vocational evaluations, educational consultations and programing for transition aged students. Bloom Consulting currently serves approximately 1,000 transition aged students a year. Bruce also provides expert testimony in personal injury, medical malpractice, social security hearings, and divorce cases. Bruce sits on the Texas Workforce Commission Developmental Disability Taskforce and is currently serving as the past-chair of IARPs Vocational Rehabilitation Transition Services board.
