What is SSI and How do I get it? by Barbara Bush

What is SSI and How do I get it?:

This presentation will explain Supplemental Security Income and how to apply for these benefits. We will show you how to maximize these benefits by using an ABLE account and how your parents retirement or death affects these benefits.

About Barbara Bush:

Barbara Bush was born in Reno, Nevada and has called Austin home since 1966. As a National Security Advisor and a Certified Senior Advisor, Barbara brings a broad base of experience in special needs long term planning and meeting the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. Her background in estate planning and probate applies extensive knowledge in both legal and medical considerations. Prior to starting Solutions for Special Needs Families, Barbara was Director of Admissions at Marbridge Foundation in Austin for eight years. She assisted families in Texas, Nationally, and Internationally with developing life options for their family member with intellectual disabilities. At Solutions for Special Needs Families we assist families with their current and future needs of their child with special needs. Solutions will determine how we can assist the family by either filing an SSI application, SSI appeal after a denial, and educating how the family can maximize their benefits. And lastly we assist with finding the best residential program for their child in Texas or across the nation by working out all financial details that families face on a daily basis.
