Meet Colter. In July 2014, at age 5, Colter leaned on his 2nd story bedroom window screen and fell onto concrete. He acquired a traumatic brain injury, but was luckily revived. He then began the process of relearning everyday basics and regulating his emotions.

His mom heard about Team Luke Hope for Minds through the NFL story with Drew Brees and Patrick Mahomes. She was relieved to know that TLHFM supports families regardless of socioeconomic status. Years after following and supporting the nonprofit, she applied for help to obtain a service dog to provide emotional support and assistance at school. Meet Luca, Colter’s Bernedoodle!

“Thank you, thank you, for renewing some hope that Colter will be able to return to the public school setting at home,” his mother said. “By providing these funds, we are given the chance to believe that Colter can gain some normalcy and regain a comfort of feeling happy and safe. We will be forever grateful for your act of kindness.”
